How much experience do you have in the private security industry?

George Larson our President has 31 years of experience in the private security industry. He is a Certified Protection Professional a designation held by only a few thousand people. Other members of our company have over 10 and 20 years of experience in the private security industry. We have serviced just about every industry and have successfully provided just about every type of security service including, access control, foot patrol, mobile patrol, event security, executive protection, etc.

Where are you located?

We are conveniently located in the heart of Jamaica Queens one block from the major public transportation hub known as “Jamaica Center”. We are accessible by subway (E, J, and Z trains to the last stop in Queens), the LIRR (Sutphin Blvd Station), and several major roadways including the Belt Parkway, the Van Wyck Expressway, the Jackie Robinson Parkway, and the Grand Central Parkway.

How long would it take someone to get to our location if we had a problem?

Since we are centrally located in Queens it would take approximately forty five minutes for one of us to get to any location in the boroughs.

What areas do you service?

We service the five boroughs, Nassau, Suffolk and Westchester counties.

Who will be our contact person?

One of our full time managers will be your liaison and contact person.

How do we contact you if we need you?

Your contact person will give you their cellular telephone number which they answer 24/7. You may call them direct any time of the day or night or you may call the main office number (718) 206-4800 to have a dispatcher deliver the message.

Is your phone answered 24/7?

Yes, our main office number is answered 24/7 by an Axel representative.

Do the security officers wear uniforms?

The security officers wear uniforms similar to that of the NYPD. If it is more appropriate and blends in better at your facility the security officers can wear white shirts, blazers, or suits.

What kind of training do the security officers get?

The security officers receive the training mandated by the New York State Department of State Division of Licensing Services. All officers receive the 8 Hour Pre-Assignment Training Course before being certified by New York State as Security Officers. They then take the 16 Hour On-The-Job Training Course within 90 days of working as security officers, and then the 8 Hr Annual-In-Service Training Course each year. All security officers receive on the job training. On-The-Job training is continuous.

What do you do if a security officer doesn’t show up?

We have a call-in-system that is operated by our 24/7 dispatchers. If a security officer doesn’t show up for work a dispatcher notifies a manager who either dispatches an officer to the site, brings an officer to the site, or goes to the site themselves.

Where do you get your security officers from?

Our security officers come to us from referrals of security officer training schools, walk-ins, and referrals of existing officers. Very often former employees return to us. All of our security officers are registered in accordance with New York State Law.

How do you screen your security officers?

Our security officers are screened in accordance with New York State Law. All of our security officers become registered with New York State. New York State does a state fingerprint check and the FBI does a federal fingerprint check. Five years of work history is confirmed.

How much do you pay your security officers?

To keep turn over down and to ensure compliance with client directives we give as much of the billing rate to our security officers as is economically possible.

Have you ever provided the type of service we require?

We have provided all of the different types of physical security including access control, executive protection, foot patrol, mobile patrol, event security etc.

What do your security officers do if there is a problem?

The security officers will call the police or fire department when a situation arises that requires professional assistance. The security officers will handle less severe situations and will report all adverse occurrences to your representative and to the Axel main office both verbally and in writing. We provide two-ply pre-printed incident report sheets. You will be provided one copy and we will keep the other.

How often do supervisors come around?

Our supervisors do site inspections at unannounced times as frequently as needed to ensure compliance with client goals.

What happens if we’re not satisfied with a security officer?

If you're not satisfied with a security officer you may either ask us to council the officer or you may have us remove him/her.

How many employees do you have?

We are large enough to provide the resources needed to satisfy your requirements and we are small enough to provide you with the personalized service you desire.

Do you have insurance?

We carry five million dollars of General Liability Insurance, a $250,000 Employee Theft Bond, Workers Compensation Insurance, New York State and Federal Unemployment Insurance, and Disability Insurance.

Do we need to sign a contract?

Per New York State Law the service we will be providing must be described in a written form. We have a short form contract that is brief and not complex.

How much time do you need to get started?

A two week start up time is standard but if time is of the essence we can accommodate you.

Do you provide service to any facilities like ours?

We provide or have provided service to many different industries. Access control and loss prevention are what we provide. Even if we haven’t serviced your industry we probably have provided and are currently providing the type of service you require.

How long have you been in business?

We have been in business providing service since 1989.

Do you service any clients near us?

Our main office is located in Jamaica Queens. We service clients in all five boroughs, Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester counties. The likelihood is great that either our office or one of our accounts is located near you.

What kind of communication system do you use?

We use Nextel Handheld communication units. The security officers have the capability of contacting our 24 hr dispatch center and phoning 911.
